Here is an easier way to proof yeast or dough with yeast in winter; boil half a cup of water in the microwave long enough to steam the microwave, about 1-2 minutes. Open the microwave door quickly and put the dough inside the microwave and shut the door quickly. Leave the mug inside if there is enough space or take it out. It will provide warmth and moisture required to proof the yeast.
