Wednesday Wisdom : Strawberry
As a kid I remember seeing strawberry in pictures only as it wasn’t a local produce but things changed a decade and a half ago and farmers started growing this red gem. Now it’s a common fruit Alhamdulillah. For the first time we tried growing it in our kitchen garden and it worked! I’m really amazed how much satisfaction you can get by just planting seeds and watching things grow. So many reasons to be thankful for. I have posted Strawberry Sauce recipe which is a very versatile way of incorporating this fruit in desserts, salad and shakes. For something special there is Strawberry Iced Tea.
We usually do not pay attention to the benefits of natural foods and find it more convenient to just pick a packet of chips, a candy bar or an ice-cream. Being aware of what we are eating and why we are eating can help us in so many ways.
