Wednesday Wisdom: Homemade Gluten Free Baking Flour
In the recent post of 30 Minute Gluten Free Thin Crust Pizza (No Yeast, No Rise, No Oven), the recipe calls for a pre blend of gluten free baking flour of your choice. Such blends are so good and so convenient to have in the pantry and most of gluten free community have their personal favorite gluten free baking flours, gluten free bread flours, gluten free all purpose flours and so on. But not all of us have access to such blends or may be run out of a gluten free pre blend when craving strikes. Plus who knows, the blend I am using isn’t available in someone’s grocery store or may be there is a grain or ingredient in a particular pre blend that doesn’t suit someone? That is why back ups are important. That is why I am in huge favor of using different gluten free flours in certain proportions according to the recipe. So here is a simple do-it-yourself or homemade blend of gluten free baking flour that works perfectly to make 30 Minute Gluten Free Thin Crust Pizza (No Yeast, No Rise, No Oven)
All you need is:
1 cup white rice flour
1/4 cup tapioca flour
1/4 cup potato starch
half tsp xanthan gum
Whisk them all in a small bowl to have one cup of homemade gluten free baking flour.
The remaining recipe and procedure would be exactly the same.
